Poems can be divided, according to their subjects, into six; epic poem, lyric poem, didactic poem, pastoral poem (eclogue), dramatic poem and satiric poem. Poetry is a form of literary art which uses the aesthetic qualities of language.
Firstly, epic poem is generally defined as a long narrative poem on a great and serious subject, related in an elevated style, and centered on a heroic. Aristotle described six characteristics; ‘fable, action, characters, sentiments, diction, and meter’. The most important example is Turkish National Anthem. It is written by Mehmet Akif Ersoy. Homer, the author of the Iliad and The Odyssey, is referred to as the ‘Father of Epic Poetry’.
Secondly, lyric poetry is a genre of poetry that expresses personal and emotional feelings. Lyric poems do not have to rhyme. Although arguably the most popular form of poetry in the Western tradition is the 14-line sonnet, either in its Petrarchan or its Shakespearean form, lyric poetry appears in a variety of forms. Other forms of lyric include ballads, odes, pastourelle and conzone. Yahya Kemal can be indicated as a best poet who is famous with lyrical poem.
Thirdly, didactic poem is instructional poetry which the poet expects the reader to learn skills, science, love, etc. from the didactic verses. Hesiod is considered the first didactic poet. We can show Kutadgu Bilig as example. It is written by Yusuf Has Hacip. Other examples are Garibname, Hayrice.
Fourthly, eclogue is a short pastoral poem, usually in dialogue, on the subject of rural life and society of shepherds, that is to say, an eclogue is a poem in a classical style on a pastoral subject. The most important poets of this subject are Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, Yahya Kemal, Behçet Necatigil and Cahit Külebi. Fifthly, dramatic poetry is a form of writing that expresses emotional feelings. It involves a narrative poem of a person in specific situation. An example of this type is in Shakespeare’s plays.
Finally, satire is about ridicule and denunciation. A satirical poem is one that makes fun of some example of vice or foolishness or injustice or moral failing. We can show Fef’I Seyrani, Orhan Veli Kanık, and Ziya Paşa.
Consequently, poems can be divided into many categories so as to tell sense and thought of a person, war, heroism, the rural life, dream, love, lust, emotional feelings, ridicule or teaching something, etc.

TYPES OF GENETIC ENGINEERING Genetic engineering is a science that changes inherited attribute of living creatures and wants to add functions to them. It is also a technology which lets scientists to transfer the genes from one organism to another. The function of the engineering is that it investigates live organisms at atomic level and it offers solutions to medical, biological and environmental problems. There are three main categories of genetic engineering: Analytical Genetic Engineering, Applied Genetic Engineering and Chemical Genetic Engineering. First category is Analytical Genetic Engineering. This is the branch of genetic engineering in which genetic models are created in computer environment. In this category, various computer programs are used theoretically. For instance, before splicing two different genes in proper way, it is prepared an analytical mode which is based on an appropriate program. This category is the best way to carry out trial and error stage and to reduce risk of disaster during experiment. Next category is Applied Genetic Engineering. In that category, as we can understandfrom its name, the application of genetic engineering is carried out. The first example is typically known as cloning and the second one is transgenesis. In the course of cloning, it is carried out with various types of animals and kinds of plants and uncertain success rate. On the other hand, transgenesis is a considerably common area whose results are much more certain than cloning. The hybrid fruits and vegetables are the examples of transgenesis. Last category is the Chemical Genetic Engineering. This type of genetic engineering deals with separating, classifying and graphing genes to prepare them for genetic experiments which are essential. It also includes genetic mapping and genetic coding. A genetic map is created after the completion of DNA process. Genetic coding is related to studying and experimenting with amino acid of RNA or DNA so as to understand heredity of subjects. As a result, the types of genetic engineering are really important to reach a reasonable conclusion. In addition,Analytical Genetic Engineering, Applied Genetic Engineering and Chemical Genetic Engineering are the three main categories of genetic engineering that have been developed up to now. Furthermore, as time goes by the number of genetic engineering could be increase and much more comprehensive studies could be done, for example; scientists might produce a human. Why not?
